What a a little masterpiece. Full of real advice for those tweens and preteens and even younger girls to have fun with and keep like a journal . If I had read this as a kid growing up my heart would have been ablaze with gentleness and possibilities. The woman who wrote this is talented and full of insights. And very very caring for that delicate individual who is beginning their lives in a world that moves very fast. Its a grounding contemplation as a book and also filled with fun activities to drive it home Excellent!!!!!
I purchased this for my daughter and neice and they love this book. I was going through the pages and I want to read this for myself.
I watched the tracking on this order everyday waiting for it to arrive in New Zealand. I am so excited to give this to me tween for Christmas. It is perfect for her to help her negotiate "THAT" age. I have read it myself and even my 40 year old self learnt stuff...I can not wait for her to start to build her own S.O.A Tool Box and see the changes that flow with that. Thank you Kinada for writing such an eye opening book, that in this world of smartphone, cyber bullying and little ones growing up to fast this will give my child such a power and strength within herself she will be unstoppable!
This book is such a gem, I wish that I had had this book when I was a young girl. I'm glad I have it now! Even as an adult there is so much wisdom and insight to be gleaned from this beautiful book. I bought it for my daughter who is only three, but already loves this book. The illustrations are so beautiful and sweet that she loves to look at the pictures while I read it to her. I cannot wait until she is a bit older and can read it herself, and do some of the activities and exercises in this book. This book is like a roadmap to spirituality and connectedness. It gives the reader fun, easy and practical tools to help them explore their inner life. From breathing exercises, meditation, affirmations, manifestation, this book has it all. It really teaches young girls (and boys) about how powerful they are. The world would be infinitely better if we had all had access to the tools in School of Awake when we were growing up. I'm so happy this book exists and I hope all children get the chance to read it. It helps build confidence and compassion, two things that are sorely needed by children today. This book has so much heart and soul, I cannot recommend it enough. Bravo to the author. I absolutely LOVE this book.

This Book is amazing! I wish I had it when I was growing up! I am looking forward to incoporating the wonderful ideas fromt this book into my yoga classes for girls. It is chock full of insight, crafts and inspiration that will awaken each girl to live authentically and feel connected-- mind, body and spirit! I would love for Kidada to come out with a curriculum guide or faciliator's manual to go with this book that can be made into a series of classes for girls. You will not be disappointed in this book! I am going to buy more as gifts!
I bought this for my girlfriend who is a teacher in the south Bronx, her intentions were to share the book with her niece and her students. When her niece got a hold of the book she did not want to put it down and started the actives in the chapter and started journaling because of the book. My girlfiend intends in starting a gofundme page to gift the the book to all her students!
I purchased this as a gift for my niece and she loved it at first site. Perfect for any girl, even a younger girl can grow into it. Also a great way for a parent to connect with their daughter and see things from their perspective.
