Cynthia Van Edwards Born in Oklahoma, with fierce Comanche blood in her veins, Cynthia Van Edwards spent hours and hours as a young girl riding horses and drawing. She found herself guiding towards arts programs and psychology in college, attending Northwestern University, where she graduated with honors. She began a career that started in counseling for children that were having learning issues in school. She eventually began working with adults who were suffering attention deficit issues and began thinking of ways to inspire people through artwork.

I've been disappointed with the entire hashtag series so far, I only bought this one because I love chalkboard backgrounds. I would not recommend it. The pictures are *so* simple and basic. At least 2 different pages with arrows-yes, just arrows. 2 mandalas that look extremely similar. The 'best' picture is probably the teddy bear if I had to pick one-and even that is not that exciting. Oh, I cannot forget to mention my personal favorite-the page of quickly and poorly sketched envelopes! (Sorry but I'm being honest!) Honestly, I guess can see this being useful-in a waiting room or something, just don't expect much of anything. That way, you will not be disappointed!
This was the 1st time I had actually seen "chalkboard" drawings and I thought it was going to be super difficult to color them. I was wrong!!! I had a ball coloring these pages. I sat with my preschool class and colored one. They even wanted to try it out. Ms. VanEdwards has done it again!!! #Chalkboard is a coloring book that is great from adults and children! I'm in love with her work. Well drawn art work the pictures will have you laughing and creating headlines for the pictures!! Can't wait for the next book in the series.
This is the 6th book of Cynthia's I have purchased. I do enjoy the designs, they are very simplistic and cute. The background is like a chalkboard, imperfections and all. BUT that adds to it not deters anything. Right now I have done just a flip thru as am working on some other things right now, but as soon as I do a few pictures will be adding them.
I'm having so much fun with this one! There are several different styles to choose from... especially nice if you just want a quickie once in awhile. Oh and when you're done coloring (if you're using markers), the backside is pretty cool, too! I definitely recommend this one!
I VERY much like this iteration in the # series. Chalkboard is less "intimidating" for me than a white (or all-back) background, and i really appreciate that the designs are not as very complex as many other books.
I love this book! I love that I can share it with my children, and the pages aren't horribly difficult. I recommend this book for all ages.
This is a fun little book. The drawings are very different being that they are supposed to give the feel of having been drawn on chalkboard. I like the look of white graphic on a dark background. The images I have colored took great patience because the lines are so thin. The little ballerina bear is my favorite of the images I have colored because she is so cute and whimiscal. The guiding arrows were by the easiest of the 3 to color because they had some wider spaces to color. And lastly the floral star was the hardest because of all the many lines!! :) Take your time with the images in this book! There is no rushing to get a quick picture colored in this one. I found found that bright/neon colors or pastels look best on the darker backgrounds. The floral star was colored using metallic and glitter gel pens and you really can't tell. I continue to enjoy Cynthia's work and look forward to more in her #series!
Cynthia Van Edwards has out did herself once again. She neverbdisappointments me with her work. #Chalkboard #ColoringBook is book 4 in her #series. With each book they get better and better. If you haven't checked out the # series yet then you should get on that. These books are a great addition to anyone's adult coloring book collection. It is absolutely beautiful and you can use, gel pens, pastels, markets, or any medium you choose on this chalkboard style book!!This my opinion and my opinion alone. I was given an advance look at the book for my honest review.
I have been privleged enough to see a few of the pages in advance for this the 4th installment of Cynthia Van Edwards # series of books entitled #chalkboard I happen to be a huge fan of the chalkboard style coloring books to date I have not seen any chalkboard books like this on the market there maybe but I have not seen them yet. There are beautiful and cute illustrations easy and difficult pages in other words there is something for everyone in this book. I just bought mine where is yours??
